Recently, I had the blessing of being stranded at a rest stop. It was President’s day and all of the banks were closed. Out of gas and in the middle of Arizona, I hunkered down at a picnic table with my driving companion and waited for what we knew would be hours, until we could receive the funds to continue on our trip.
A few yards away from us was a family of five. There a panic stricken father, trying to gather all of the children up and get them over to the picnic tables, where their mother was preparing a few sandwiches. The father took good care of his children but it was the mother that captured my attention. I watched as snacks, Kleenex, wipes, blankets, pacifiers and electronics were retrieved from this women’s not so big bag; a bag of tricks for sure. Whatever these children needed was instantly met with a quick grab into this bag.
Watching this reminded me of my own mother. How my mother has always provided everything and anything I ever needed. She always made it look so effortless, even though I know at times we were barely getting by. This mother whom I had never met reminded me of my own mother’s ability to love unconditionally and support me 100% in everything that I strive for. She turned what was a frustrating day into a day filled with gratitude for my own mother.
On that note I invite you to come out to Silver Springs this Sunday, May 11th at 10:30am or 12:30pm to enjoy a wonderful Mother’s Day Brunch. Silver Springs is a beautiful, peaceful place to bring your Mother. She can relax in nature with the family she loves! Brunch will be buffet style with classical music for your enjoyment. Admission is $35.00 per person and each mother will receive a FREE glass bottom boat tour with one paid youth ticket. Come out this Sunday and help us celebrate all of the wonderful Mothers in the surrounding area.
