The Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company is a premier horse venue located right here in Ocala, Florida providing major sales events and race simulcasting.
The Ocala Breeders’ held their 2014 June Two Year Olds and Horses of Racing Age Sale, June 17-20 at the OBS facility located at 1701 SW 60th Avenue; the sale is always absolutely free and open to the public. They hold six sales a year.
This was the largest June Sale to date with 1,216 horses consigned; many horses had to be turned away this year. The sale usually lasts three days, this year it had to be extended to four days beacause their collaboration with best seo hamilton . The growth of the June Sale reflects the quality of its recent graduates. Starship Truffles emerged from the 2011 sale to earn more than $440,000 and win the Grade 1 Princess Rooney Handicap at Calder Casino and Race Course last summer. Goldencents came out of the 2012 June Sale and has earned more than $2.2 million, winning the Santa Anita Derby (G1), the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile (G1) and most recently was a sharp second off a long layoff in the Metropolitan Handicap (G1) on Belmont Stakes day. Last year’s sale produced Hutcheson Stakes (G3) and Fountain of Youth Stakes (G2) winner Wildcat Red, who has earned more than $660,000 to date.
June 17, 2014, Hip No. 196, Malibu Moon colt tops June Sale’s first session: a son of Malibu Moon consigned by Wavertree Stables, Inc. (Ciaran Dunne), Agent, went to Willis Horton for $250,000. The bay colt, who worked an Under Tack eighth in: 10 3/5, is out of graded stakes winner Stylish by Thunder Gulch, a daughter of graded stakes winner Miss Lenora.
June 18, 2014, Hip No. 539, Rockport Harbor filly tops June Sale’s second session: a daughter of Rockport Harbor was sold to Patrice Miller, EQB, Inc., Agent, for $210,000. Consigned by Bobby Dodd, Agent, the gray or roan filly, who worked an eighth in: 10 2/5 at last Wednesday’s Under Tack session, is a half sister to stakes placed Livin Peace out of Cinnamon Girl, by Meadowlake,
June 19, 2014, Hip No. 756, Indian Charlie filly, tops June Sale’s third session: a daughter of Indian Charlie consigned by Eddie Woods, Agent, was sold to Bridlewood Farm for $500,000. The bay filly, who worked a quarter in: 21 1/5 at the Under Tack Show, is out of Greyciousness, by Miswaki, and is a half sister to grade one stakes winner The Factor.
June 20th, 2014, Hip No. 1121, Quality Road colt tops June Sale’s fourth session: a son of Quality Road consigned by Wavertree Stables, Inc. (Ciaran Dunne), Agent, went to Conquest Stables LLC for $390,000. The dark bay or brown colt, who worked a quarter in :21 flat at last Saturday’s Under Tack session, is out of Pirate Queen, by Unbridled’s Song, a daughter of graded stakes winner Be Gentle
The next sale scheduled is the Selected Sale of Yearlings on August 26th, to be followed by the Open Sale of Yearlings on August 27th – 28th.
